đ€§ finally caught a cold after a couple years(?). My daughter was sick last week with a head cold (tested neg for the â19) and now Iâve got it. Make the sneezing stop!
I mentioned calling this Instaduke.com in my “Pausing Social Media” blog article. Last week I registered that domain and it redirects to my activity page. I updated most of my social media bio links to point there as well. So I guess it’s official. As you can probably already see, there’s no one consistent topic… I’ll be posting about whatever I feel like at the moment, which is fun. My ... (more)
A lot of new acronyms surrounding electric vehicles have seen the light over recent years. Here’s your cheat-sheet breakdown for ICEV, EV, BEV, HEV, PHEV, EREV:
ICEV – Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle (gas or diesel)
EV – The general classification for any type of electric vehicle
BEV – Battery Electric Vehicle
HEV – Hybrid Electric Vehicle (no plug)
PHEV – Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle
EREV – Extended Range Electric Vehicle ... (more)
Back in October I was hired by an agency to do the English voice over dub for 2 Turkish food commercials. They recently contacted me about royalties for airing it in the UK! We agreed to a price and soon it will be on TV in London and the rest of the UK. Here’s one of them (I voiced both characters):
Did you know the inside of the âHome Aloneâ house was filmed entirely inside a high school? I didnât until I watched Netflixâs âThe Movies That Made Usâ. I watched a few episodes tonight and itâs well worth your time.
I love watching Keith Morrison on Dateline. He’s so eerily creepy it’s beyond entertaining to me. Bill Hader does an even more (intentionally) creepy parody of Keith on SNL (plenty of videos on YouTube if you haven’t seen them). Check this out–it’s the first time Hader met Morrison, captured on video.
My daughter sent me this a few days ago. I can’t stop watching Ewan McGregor talking about sea otters in Alaska…
“We’re looking at sea otters… six of them here… they’re beautiful… pop pop pop… it’s cool isn’t it?” 😂
Finished watching the final (7th) season of “Bosch” on Prime Video. Like previous sessions, it was awesome. Great cast. If you’re into cop dramas, you’ll love this show. It’s about a homicide detective, Harry Bosch (played by Titus Welliver), in Los Angeles. The first half of each season builds and can seem slow moving at times, so hang in there because the 2nd half (and definitely the last few episodes ... (more)
I posted this as a comment to a YouTube video, but thought I’d share my thoughts here too. This is in response to Chris Hau’s YouTube video titled “Creators are ditching INSTAGRAMâŠwhy YOU should be worried”. I predicted this would happen to the IG platform back in 2012 when FB bought IG, and further confirmed in 2018 when IG founders Systrom and Krieger left the company. It’s the same reason ... (more)
For the first time in about 15 years I decided to spend some time on my day off yesterday to purge old contacts from my phone. There was so much junk I couldn’t believe it… and people I couldn’t even recognize anymore. In the end I whittled it down to under 180 after deleting more than 200. I’m posting this to encourage you to do the same… give your contacts ... (more)
Why haven’t I been posting on social media lately? Pausing Social Media is an article I posted to my blog to explain. Check it out!
Hey there! I decided to try something new… my own personal mini blog. It’s like having my own personal Twitter.
I love the idea of Twitter, but I haven’t been a big fan of the social network in years… or many other social networks these days. They own all my content and it’s not indexed very well to help others.
So I’m pulling things back to my own website and ... (more)
I’ve had the Goldman Sachs titanium Apple Card now for a few months and I love it. It’s easy to manage everything with the Apple Wallet app, it’s secure, but it also doesn’t work at some places.
For one, it’s a MasterCard (not Visa) so it’s not accepted at some major retailers… the main one being CostCo, where we do a lot of shopping. Even paying with Apple Pay using ... (more)
The pandemic affected us all in some way–good and bad. Mostly bad. This post is about a good way. In the excess downtime my daughter and I went all-in on Star Wars. This is a franchise that I appreciated and respected, but avoided for the most part getting into for lack of time. The gateway drug for me was The Mandalorian. After that, we decided to watch all the original ... (more)
